Interest Rate on Non-Indexed Loans Reduced to 8.5%

The interest rate on non-indexed loans from LSR will decrease by 0.5 percentage points, from 9.0% to 8.5%, effective Wednesday, February 12, 2025. The interest rate on LSR’s non-indexed fund member loans is fixed for 36 months at a time.
2024 Salary Statements for Pensioners and Retirees Issued

LSR has now completed the submission of salary statements for pensioners and retirees to the Icelandic Tax Authority (RSK). The submission includes all fund members who received retirement or pension payments in 2024 from LSR's Division A, Division B, Private Pension, as well as ESÚÍ (Pension Fund for Employees of Útvegsbanki Íslands) and the LA and LR funds.
Private Pension Payments Still Allowed Toward Mortgage Principal

The option to use private pension savings tax-free toward the principal of mortgages was recently extended and is now valid until the end of 2025. If this option was used last year, there is no need to reapply for continued use.
Exciting Position in LSR's Pension Department

LSR is seeking a motivated and positive individual for the position of Specialist in the Pension Department. The role involves both assisting fund members and participating in the fund's improvement projects.
Opening Hours During Christmas and New Year

The LSR office and phone service will be closed on public holidays during Christmas and New Year. On the first working day after the holidays, the fund’s services will start at 10:00 AM, one hour later than usual.
New Website and My Pages

LSR has launched a new website and My Pages section on lsr.is. The website has been redesigned from the ground up with the aim of simplifying information delivery and improving services for fund members.
Changes to Mortgage Interest Rates

As of November 15, interest rates on new LSR mortgages will change. The interest rates for non-indexed loans will decrease by 0.5%, while the interest rates for indexed loans will increase by 0.2%.
